Weilermühle 01

Jörg Wiedergrün von Staufenberg is mentioned as the first owner of the “M ü len , gelegen zue Durrenbach Wiler ”, in 1328. He was succeeded in 1378 by Andreas von Wiedergrün. In 1655, the Strasbourg citizen Ullrich Marbach sold the mill to the Staufenberg bailiff Michael Scherer. On January 8, 1661, the mill was sold by his widow Anna Margaretha to the “highly noble Carl Neveu de la Folie”.

The mill’s use as a mill ended in 1976 with the lease of Karl Ludwig Streif as mill tenant. Further changes of ownership took place from 1998 onwards.

The Weilermühle is located on the border between Durbach and Ebersweier. This was also the border between the Landvogtei Ortenau and the former Margravial Baden Lordship of Staufenberg (see coat of arms stone 1539).
